Liberals Declare Digital Divorce

Liberals who are upset at Elon Musk for not censoring X and endorsing Donald Trump have flocked to Bluesky. The social network’s CEO Jay Graber says that the site now has 20 million users and has gained over one million users per day since the election.

Blusky feels like X but it is far simpler. Do they do what liberals want Elon Musk to do and censor content? They do. Bluesky uses AI for automated moderation alongside human moderation. They are also working on a tattletale system called “community labeling” so users can help moderators “inform” their decisions.

It is a great place to find liberal jabber, that’s for sure. The media is calling this the “national digital divorce.”

Will liberals get tired of talking to themselves or will conservatives join the conversation and make it interesting? Who knows. The Babylon Bee poked fun of this “digital divorce” with this satire: “Experts Predict Every Liberal Will Soon Be On Own Individual Social Media Platform To Prevent Encountering Wrong Opinions.”

Trump’s Cabinet of Curiosities

President-Elect Trump named new cabinet members this week. They include:

Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education. She was formerly the Administrator of the Small Business Administration and an executive at WWE. She is the wife of Vince McMahon. She is a proponent of school choice and parents’ rights, meaning that education decisions will be sent back to the states if she has anything to do with it.

Dr. Mehmet Oz as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator. Yes, the TV Dr. Oz. He has been outspoken about America’s dependence on processed food and the biopharmaceutical industry. Will that be his platform for the only national healthcare system we’ve got?

Howard Lutnick as Secretary of Commerce. He is currently the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, a financial services company. The President-Elect says that he will lead his tariff and trade agenda, which President Trump said on the campaign trail will help reduce the federal government’s dependence on income taxes.

Matthew Whitaker, former acting Attorney General, as the Ambassador to NATO. The President-Elect says that he will “strengthen relationships with our NATO Allies, and stand firm in the face of threats to Peace and Stability – He will put AMERICA FIRST.” Is this an indication that NATO will no longer be setting U.S. foreign policy? I hope…

The Prosecution of Donald Trump

New York Prosecutor Alvin Bragg has agreed to delay the sentencing for President-Elect Trump in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial.

This doesn’t mean that the case was dismissed. The Trump team had asked to delay the sentencing which was supposed to be next week. Alvin Bragg’s team, the prosecution, say that they don’t oppose this.

The Trump team has argued for dismissal based on presidential immunity and Bragg’s filing says that he will oppose that. So he will keep fighting for a win in this case, but maybe with less wind at his back.

Unless Judge Marchan dismisses the case entirely, which he could do.

The President Elect’s team is arguing for dismissal based on presidential immunity but his 6th amendment rights were clearly violated during this trial and there is strong evidence of selective prosecution given that Hillary Clinton was not prosecuted for the same journal entry for the Steele Dossier. I would much rather those things be the grounds for dismissal. Does this mean that the rest of us have to run for president if we are politically prosecuted against our civil rights?

Ukraine Launches New Long-Range Attacks

Ukraine followed up its long-range weapon attack on Russia on Wednesday, this time reportedly with weapons from the U.K. This follows attacks on Tuesday with U.S.-made ATACMS missiles.

On Tuesday, Ukraine attacked Russia’s Bryansk region. On Wednesday, they reportedly attacked the Kursk region. Neither of those places are near the contested region where the battle has been in Ukraine.

This means that Ukraine is not defending itself to regain territory. They are only instigating a global war because Russia has said that it considers an attack from Ukraine an attack from the West and will retaliate accordingly.

Who wants this war? No sane person living in a NATO country wants to fight Russia but guess what? Neither do Ukrainians. Gallup somehow surveyed Ukrainians and found that more of them want the war to end than want to keep fighting.

I thought the West “stood with Ukraine.” If they stand with Ukraine, they should honor their wishes for peace.

Liberals Go on Shopping Strike

Here is another way that liberals are planning not to cooperate with the next Trump administration: a shopping strike.

One liberal user on X explained it this way: “Trump will not have a good economy because we don’t have to let him. I myself plan on paying my bills and saving every penny beyond that. I will not contribute to this economy in any other way.”

This person has pledged to stock up on clothes and food and not spend a single penny during the four years that Trump is in office. No buying clothes, no eating out, no paying for cable news, no movies, no sporting events, no new furniture or household appliances, no Christmas gifts for loved ones.

So now liberals are on sex strikes, hair strikes, and shopping strikes. The Party of Joy is sure showing how it’s done!

U.S. Pushes Israel For Ceasefire

The U.S. is pushing for a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that he is willing to agree to that on paper but will still “systematically carry out operations against Hezbollah’s attacks.”

That’s not really a ceasefire then, is it?

The Prime Minister said this: “We will not allow Hezbollah to return to the state it was in on October 6, 2023.”

Israel has been targeting civilian neighborhoods in Beirut, killing at least five today and injuring 24.

The attacks in Gaza have also stepped up with over 100 people killed over the weekend and another 76 on Monday, according to reports.

Over the weekend, the Pope published excerpts from his book calling for an investigation into Israel for its actions in Gaza, writing this: “We should investigate carefully to assess whether this fits into the technical definition (of genocide) formulated by international jurists and organisations.”

The Battle over Matt Gaetz

A woman claims that she saw Florida Representative Matt Gaetz having sex with a 17-year-old minor at a drug-filled party in 2017. The woman’s lawyer says that she testified to the House Ethics Committee.

This is relevant as Gaetz will face opposition to his nomination as Attorney General under President Trump.

Gaetz has repeatedly said that he was set up by the Feds and denied the allegations. In fact, a man is in prison now for trying to extort Gaetz’ father for $25 million in exchange for a “guaranteed pardon” in relationship to the ongoing lawfare against Gaetz. He was investigated and never charged.

The House investigation began in June. A report was scheduled to be released this week but now that Gaetz has resigned from Congress after his AG nomination, that report may not be released. The committee will meet on Wednesday to discuss its release and possibly ask Congress to vote on releasing it to the public.

House Speaker Mike Johnson last week said that the panel should not release the report. I would like to see it, sure. It’s not a healthy cloud to have over the country’s top lawyer and if there is evidence that he was extorted, I want to see that too.

I also want to see the ethics reports on other congressional representatives. Marjorie Taylor Greene said this: “If we are going to release ethics reports and rip apart our own that Trump has appointed, then put it ALL out there for the American people to see. Yes.. all the ethics reports and claims including the one I filed all your sexual harassment and assault claims that were secretly settled paying off victims with tax payer money the entire Jeffrey Epstein files, tapes, recordings, witness interviews but not just those, there’s more, Epstein wasn’t/isn’t the only asset If we’re going to dance, let’s all dance in the sunlight.”

Agreed. Do it.

NATO Starts Direct War with Russia

Ukraine fired long-range US-made ATACMS missiles at Russia’s Bryansk Region. That is nowhere near the contested region where the battle has been in Ukraine.

This comes after the Biden administration reportedly authorized Ukraine to attack Russia with long-range weapons, a move that President Biden repeatedly promised the American people he would NOT do.

Russia responded to that news by saying that they would enact an “appropriate” response. Russian President Putin said that the Biden administration was “continuing to stoke tension around this conflict.”

Russia claims that it intercepted all six ATACMS missiles.

Russia also updated its nuclear doctrine, as they have been promising to do in order to “adapt to new realities.” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov explained it thus:

“What is the most striking example of the realities of the modern day? Authority in the White House, in the United States takes a decision to use their weapons, American-produced weapons, against the Russian Federation. We needed that update, we ensured this.”

The doctrine clarifies that nuclear weapons are a last resort but it clarifies that it “will view a non-nuclear country (Ukraine) supported by a nuclear power (the U.S.) as a joint attack” and will “consider a nuclear response to a conventional weapons attack threatening its sovereignty, a large-scale launch of enemy aircraft, missiles, and drones targeting Russian territory, their crossing of the Russian border, and an attack on its ally Belarus.”

Does the U.S. and NATO really want to test to see if they’re serious?

While Western leaders dance around the idea of war with Russia, they are also in the company of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the G20 Summit in Brazil. Lavrov is participating in the international conference and “will address sessions on combating inequality, hunger, and poverty, as well as on the reform of global institutions.” He is also planning to “hold a series of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the event,” according to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Disney Drops Transgender Plans

Disney has axed an animated episode about a transgender child who plays sports with a girls’ team. The show is called “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” An episode schedule for 2025 was to be called “The Gatekeeper” but Disney will not air it now.

The episode was about a transgender boy playing on the girls’ volleyball team and facing discrimination for it. One of the episode’s creators reportedly said this and then deleted it on the app Blue Sky:

“So guess I finally got hit with one of the projects (episode) I worked on is getting shelved because of which party that won the recent election. It breaks my heart knowing this impactful and amazing is now about to be consider a lost media episode.”

Is it because of the election or is it because a new report from the United Nations that showed that “over 600 female athletes in more than 400 competitions have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports” and maybe now the rest of us can see that this isn’t right, even Disney executives?

Disney is also facing calls to replace Rachel Zegler as Snow White in the upcoming feature film for saying that she wishes President-Elect Trump and his supporters “never know peace.” Disney fired “The Mandalorian” actress Gina Carano for expressing a conservative opinion but she did not wish harm on anyone. Imagine a Hollywood actor wishing harm on a Harris supporter.

Will Disney move forward with this obnoxious actress who hates 50.2% of the country? Back to the Future was re-shot with a new lead late in the game, although the movie previews had not been released. There’s a first for everything.

Trump Coming Out Parties

“Secret Trump voters” are outing themselves in the wake of President Trump’s victory. This refers to people who were sheepish to admit that they would vote for Trump are feeling emboldened to do so now.

And it’s a good thing too! In the run-up to the election, Democrats were threatening to out people who voted for Trump and…I don’t know what, harass and shame them? It’s best to out yourself than be hunted down and shamed, right?

Now MAGA hats are less taboo, as are MAHA hats and Axios reports that more Trump lawn signs went up AFTER the election than were up before. Plus, NFL players are doing the Trump dance in the end zone.

A pollster and strategist said this to Axios: “All of these undercover Trump people are out. People that would have hidden a week or so ago aren’t hiding anymore.”

Glass half-empty take: How sad that people felt that their fragile relationships could be tanked because of their politics.

Glass half-full take: Maybe the cancel culture is really over.

Where Did The Missing Money Go?

The Department of Defense put a “disclaimer of opinion” on its annual audit, trying to account for $824 billion. This means that they’re not sure where all of the money went and they won’t have clean books for at least another few years. Over $1 trillion in assets are unaccounted for and this is the seventh year in a row that the annual audit has failed to balance the books.

What if we presented the government with our tax returns like this? I think this is what I owe. I’ll give you a clear picture of my assets in four years. Deal with it.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the department “made real progress” and is “committed to achieving an unmodified (clean) financial statement audit opinion by the end of 2028.”

Auditing the DOD is undoubtedly a nightmare. They have to audit over 4,000 cites in over 160 countries but the department spent $1 billion to do it! They can’t get a good audit even by spending $1 billion?

Republican Congressman Tim Burchett says that the audit includes money for a “secret UFO program.”

US Approves Long Range Weapons to Ukraine

Unnamed sources say that President Biden has given Ukraine authorization to use long-range weapons to strike Russia after promising the American people that he would never do that because it would lead to World War III.

Ukrainian President Zelensky said on X that this has not been approved but it is on his Christmas wish list and has been for over two years.

“One of its key elements is providing our army with long-range capabilities,” he wrote. “There’s been much said in the media today that we have received approval to take relative actions. But strikes are not carried out with words. These things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves.”

The New York Times reports that “allowing the Ukrainians to use the long-range missiles, known as the Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, came in response to Russia’s surprise decision to bring North Korean troops into the fight, officials said.”

There has not yet been proof that North Korean troops are fighting for Ukraine and North Korea has denied it.

Why would the New York Times report this from unnamed sources? This would mean that the Biden administration wants an escalation of the war with Russia before the Trump administration could negotiate an end to the war. Suspicious, right?

Legacy Media is Having a Reckoning

The Los Angeles Times will replace its editorial staff because the paper’s owner realized that the one they’ve got is biased. The owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong said this about it:

“When the President has won the vote of the majority of Americans then ALL voices must be heard. Opinions are just that. I will work towards making our paper and media fair and balanced so that all voices are heard and we can respectfully exchange every American’s view ..from left to right to the center. Coming soon. A new Editorial Board. Trust in media is critical for a strong democracy.”

While most media is left wondering why their attacks on President-Elect Trump did not cost him the election, the LA Times is realizing that their bias is hurting, not helping. On the day after the election, Dr. Soon-Shiong said this: “The American people have spoken and @latimes will take the lead to provide factual and balanced coverage as the country heals its division.”

CDC Had Planned Concentration Camps in U.S.

The CDC had a plan for Covid quarantine concentration camps. They never implemented them in the U.S. but the fact that there was a plan in place should give us pause.

ZeroHedge reports that the plan was live on the CDC website until March of 2023. The plans included isolation cells where inmates would be given “only food and some cleaning supplies. They would be banned from participating in any religious services. The plan included contingencies for preventing suicide. There were no provisions made for any legal appeals or even the right to legal counsel.”

This plan was written in mid-2020, a time when the data showed that Covid was only dangerous for high-risk individuals. This plan has no reference to that science.

ZeroHedge was not able to surmise who wrote this but we should absolutely want to know why the CDC was planning to put people in concentration camps with no legal resource, shouldn’t we?

President’s Cabinet of Curiosities

President-Elect Trump’s cabinet appointments have felt like an NFL Draft this week. He sure is throwing curveballs!

The dreaded news came that indeed, Florida Senator Marco Rubio has been nominated to be Secretary of State. The same Marco Rubio who said that Russia blew up the Nord Stream Pipeline. God help us. I don’t know how that guy gets put in charge of diplomacy on behalf of US ALL. He talks a lot of bullshit on cable news but let’s hope he doesn’t pull that when meets Presidents Xi Xinping or Vladimir Putin.

A true wildcard was the appointment of Florida Representative Matt Gaetz as Attorney General. Gaetz is one of the only congressmen to try to force the U.S. to withdraw from its illegal occupation of Syria and Yemen. He has also been a vocal critic of the weaponization of the Justice Department, which he will now lead. He’s not a predictable politician by any means. President Trump says that Gaetz “will root out corruption at the DOJ, and return the Department to its true mission of fighting Crime.”

The President-Elect also nominated former Congresswoman and Lieutenant Colonel Tulsi Gabbard to serve as Director of National Intelligence. This one is a doozy. Gabbard herself was put on a watchlist for speaking out against the war in Ukraine and the Biden administration’s constant war escalation. Now she will be in charge of the people who put her on surveillance lists. Loving this!

It feels like the Wizard of Oz handing out the token items that each campaign loyalist earned on the trip to Oz. Robert F. Kennedy has yet to see his big prize but we are hoping it is head of the FDA, the Department of Health or the NIH! Do it!

Israel Plans to Occupy Gaza For Years to Come

Israel says that it plans to stay in Gaza at least through 2025 and has turned the Palestinian territory into a “very active construction site.”

Israeli paper Haaretz reports that Israel’s presence in Gaza is not just a military operation. It is a full-on development project, “whether it is talked about openly or not.”

“This isn’t a new public housing project, it’s a completely different type of project. Scenes similar to this one, near the Netzarim corridor, can be seen in additional places in the Gaza Strip. The development momentum is in full swing, and the goal – whether it is talked about openly or not – is clear: building the infrastructure for the military’s prolonged stay in the field, at least in the first stage.”

The report continues:

“They say that some weeks ago, the IDF began “exposing large areas” in the Strip: in less military jargon, destroying existing buildings and infrastructure in such a way that dangers to the forces cannot hide in them, but no one can live in them either. This is in addition to the construction of roads and preparations for building more permanent military facilities.”

In other words, they are not just rooting out Hamas. They are actively taking over Gaza. Earlier this month, Israeli officials said that Israel had “no intention of allowing the residents of the northern Gaza Strip to return to their homes.”

Letting Kids Be Kids is Now Illegal

A mom was arrested because her 10-year-old son walked less than 1 mile to town on his own in a small town in Georgia. The government says that they will not prosecute her if she agrees to track her son at all times on an app.

A nosy neighbor called the police and police arrested and carted Brittany Patterson off to jail in front of her children. They say that they will not press charges if she signs a “safety plan.”

The plan requires Patterson to designate a “safety person” to be a “knowing participant and guardian” and watch over the children whenever she leaves home as well as requires him to track him on an app at all times. She refused because she wanted him to have age-appropriate freedom.

Patterson contacted a lawyer from ParentsUSA, a nonprofit that often provides pro bono legal help to parents wrongly arrested and prosecuted for child neglect. Legal counsel David DeLugas called the assistant district attorney (ADA) and was told that all criminal charges would be dropped if Patterson signs the plan. They also sent the boy a birthday card in the mail a few days later.

She refuses and the case is as yet unresolved. A GoFundMe has been established to help ParentsUSA cover the Pattersons’ legal expenses.

The best-selling parenting book Anxious Generation makes the point that children are “over-protected in the real world and under-protected online” and that they should not have smartphones until they are in the 8th grade. We should applaud this woman for giving her son freedom and keeping him off addictive technology, not punishing her!

Oh No! Say It Ain’t So!

The Guardian announced that it will no longer use X, formerly Twitter, and fired CNN anchor Don Lemon says that he is doing the same.

Darn, how will we cope?

The Guardian says that they “think that the benefits of being on X are now outweighed by the negatives and that resources could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere.” They say that the platform is rife with “far-right hate” but don’t specify what that means nor do they provide examples.

Trust in the media has been plummeting. Will The Guardian’s refusal to engage in anything other than its own rhetoric help this?

Don Lemon launched a show on X after he was fired from CNN and leaked memos show that he demanded millions of dollars and a Tesla Cybertruck from Elon Musk, which he never got. I can unequivocally say that his X show is horribly obnoxious. He roams the street, bothering people to ask about their politics and then lecturing them about why they’re wrong.  He says he will continue his work on YouTube and Facebook.

Introducing The Department of Government Efficiency

President-Elect Trump announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head a new agency called the “Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).”

This organization will, according to the announcement, “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies.” It is a big and broad task – perhaps a little too big and broad – but would anyone that the government has not multiplied like Gremlins since Roosevelt’s first 100 Days? It’s a shocking beast and it is costing taxpayers to pay for government (and military) expansion.

Have you ever seen the movie Dave? The plot has a Washington outsider bring in a small-town accountant and balance the budget by cutting waste. Could that happen?

The President-Elect has also solidified the following Cabinet appointments: Congresswoman Kristi Noem has been asked to serve as the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), veteran and Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth has been nominated as the Secretary of Defense. Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe as been asked to serve as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). William Joseph McGinley will serve as White House Counsel. Steven C. Witkoff was asked to be Special Envoy to the Middle East. Former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee was appointed as the Ambassador to Israel.

There has so far been no formal announcement of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, perhaps because there was such outrage at the very notion. Let’s hope that was an urban legend because Rubio is an odious warmonger.

The President-Elect is also reported to be working on a Special Envoy to Ukraine to broker peace. The Zelensky regime was reportedly disappointed that Mike Pompeo will not get a diplomatic post because he has helped Ukraine sow so much violence in the past.

Israel Leak

A man was arrested on Tuesday for leaking documents showing Israel’s plan to retaliate against Iran.

According to The New York Times, “The official, Asif W. Rahman, was indicted last week in federal court in Virginia with two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information. He was arrested by the F.B.I. on Tuesday in Cambodia and brought to federal court in Guam to face charges.”

The documents came from the showed Israel rehearsing maneuvers to strike Iran and preparing for another Iranian retaliation. The leak does not compromise any military personnel’s safety. It only appears to embarrass the United States for spying on Israel and prevents the U.S. from saying that it doesn’t know what Israel has planned. President Biden has previously called on Israel to avoid hitting Iran’s nuclear sites and its energy facilities.

The United States has whistleblower protections but Rahman is being charged with violations of the Espionage Act.
