U.S. Could Own TikTok?

4 février 2025 à 12:19

Wait, TikTok could be owned by the United States government instead of private Chinese investors? Does anyone think that’s a good alternative?

The Trump administration published an order to establish a “sovereign wealth fund to promote fiscal sustainability, lessen the burden of taxes on American families and small businesses, establish economic security for future generations, and promote United States economic and strategic leadership internationally.”

The fund would do what hedge funds are supposed to do: make investments. The President said that other countries have funds like this and putting TikTok in the fund was just one of many ideas he is spitballing.

“As an example, TikTok, we’re going to be doing something perhaps … and we might put that in the sovereign wealth fund, whatever we make, or if we do a partnership with very wealthy people — a lot of options, but we could put that as an example in the fund. We have a lot of other things that we can put in the fund.”

Another idea was discussed by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick: investing in the vaccines that the government green lights.

“If we are going to buy 2 billion COVID vaccines, maybe we should have some warrants and some equity in these companies and have that grow for the health of the American people.”

The government profiting from the vaccines it implements? No. Didn’t we learn from the Covid vaccine?

Altitude Problem

4 février 2025 à 12:18

Could the Black Hawk helicopter that slammed into a passenger airplane last week have had faulty altitude readings? That is what new data suggests.

Early investigation shows that the Black Hawk was shown an altitude of 200 feet, even though the crash happened at around 325 feet. Black Hawks are not supposed to fly above 200 feet so why were they? Did they have faulty readings? Was the system hacked to show faulty readings? Did the pilots not know that they were well over their allowed altitude?

To be honest, I’m surprised they’ve even acknowledged this much. Two men were arrested for leaking the footage of the airplanes collapsing. They were airport employees.

Mexico and Canada

4 février 2025 à 12:17

The Presidents of Mexico and Canada both made last-minute deals to avoid 25% tariffs on trade with the United States, which were imposed by the White House.

China did not make a deal so 10% tariffs will be imposed beginning today. China says that they oppose this and “will take necessary countermeasures to defend its legitimate rights and interests.”

The White House threatened these tariffs to get these countries to take responsibility for “halting illegal immigration and stopping poisonous fentanyl and other drugs from flowing into our country.”

Mexico promised to send 10,000 troops to the Southern Border to prevent migrants from crossing North. In exchange, the U.S. promised to work “to prevent the trafficking of high-powered weapons to Mexico,” according to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Canada staved off the tariff by promising to implement a 1.3 billion border plan. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that Canada will commit to “reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.  In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million.   Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.”

Those are hefty promises but will they really stop the powerful and dangerous drug trade or will bad people find a way? It’s better than what we had to stop the drug and human traffic, which was nothing, but what will happen to the drug economy now?

Another partner has shown up to deter drug and human traffickers: Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele says that his country is willing to “take in only convicted criminals (including convicted U.S. citizens) into our mega-prison (CECOT) in exchange for a fee. The fee would be relatively low for the U.S. but significant for us, making our entire prison system sustainable.” The images are pretty scary. Could this work? And are the people of El Salvador okay with hosting the worst of the worst?

Israel

4 février 2025 à 12:15

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Trump today. President Trump, worryingly, was asked on Monday about Israel annexing the West Bank and he said this:

“It’s a small country in terms of land…that’s not good… It’s a pretty small piece of land and it’s amazing that they’ve been able to do what they’ve been able to do when you think about it. There’s a lot of very smart brainpower. But it is a very small piece of land, no question about it.”

What does that mean exactly? That the U.S. President supports Israel annexing and ousting Palestinians from their homes? That he thinks that Israel has outgrown it’s country? Even if it did annex the West Bank, Israel would still be a small piece of land so….would Jordan and Egypt be next? Israel already tried to take the Sinai Peninsula but had to give it back in 1982 due to the Camp David Accords.

The Wall Street Journal cites unnamed “U.S. officials” reporting that “the Trump administration has asked congressional leaders to approve new transfers of roughly $1 billion worth of bombs and other military hardware to Israel at the same time the White House is working to preserve a fragile cease-fire in Gaza.”

This was announced by the Biden administration and President Trump has said that Israel already paid for them. Israeli officials have said that this was part of the conditions of the ceasefire.

Zelensky Who?

2 février 2025 à 20:23

Russia intelligence reports that NATO is planning to oust Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky from power “by discrediting him ahead of potential elections next fall.”

He’s done a pretty good job of that on his own. What else could NATO do? They could all of a sudden see Zelensky’s own corruption that we have been reporting on Redacted for two years.

Hey, that guy is linked to the “embezzlement of over $1.5 billion in funds intended for purchasing military equipment.” We now know what we have been busy not knowing!

Moscow claims that NATO officials “see Zelensky as a key obstacle to peace talks with Moscow.”

“Washington and Brussels agree that the main obstacle to the implementation of such a scenario is Zelensky, who is referred to in Western circles as nothing more than ‘expendable material,’” the he Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said in the statement, adding that “even NATO understands that Zelensky’s time is up.”

Dictator Zelensky has held onto power citing marshal law while touring the world to beg for money for more of his people to die. Over the weekend, he said that he doesn’t even know where most of the money the West has sent has gone. Recent reports show that his military is so depleted that they are now enlisting people with diagnosed schizophrenia.

FBI Purge

2 février 2025 à 20:22

Top FBI leaders have until today to resign or be sent packing. They were given notice on Thursday, even as the prospective head of the FBI Kash Patel has not yet been confirmed.

James E. Dennehy, a veteran agent who has been in charge of the New York City field office, sent an internal memo calling this “a battle of our own.”

“Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own, as good people are being walked out of the F.B.I. and others are being targeted because they did their jobs in accordance with the law and F.B.I. policy,” he wrote, according to the New York Times. He said it was time for him “to dig in.”

Dennehy is not reported to be among those asked to leave but at least five top officials in field offices in Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, New Orleans and Las Vegas were ordered to resign.

The Justice Department has ordered the FBI to “collect the names of bureau personnel who helped investigate the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.” We know that the government violated the civil rights of many of those defendants and we are owed an explanation of how. The New York Times reports that the number of relevant agents “could reach 6,000 — or about a sixth of the bureau’s 38,000 employees, according to the F.B.I.”

The End of The (Unipolar) World Ends

2 février 2025 à 20:20

The United States is signaling an end to the “unipolar world” and acting accordingly. This sounds like diplomatic gobbledygook but it could actually be a major shift and the end of the U.S. policy to be the bully of the world.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has started to use the phrase “multipolar world, multi-great powers in different parts of the planet.” He wrote this in the Wall Street Journal:

“It’s no accident that my first trip abroad as secretary of state, to Central America on Friday, will keep me in the hemisphere. This is rare among secretaries of state over the past century. For many reasons, U.S. foreign policy has long focused on other regions while overlooking our own. As a result, we’ve let problems fester, missed opportunities and neglected partners. That ends now. President Trump’s foreign-policy agenda begins close to home.”

He’s right, most Secretaries of State start off in Europe and the Middle East, telling them what to do and how to be.

The U.S. is also, in the words of Arnaud Bertrand, “dismantling foreign interference apparatuses (like USAID).” The Trump administration shut down USAID in one fell swoop and exposed all manner of funding corruption in so doing. When DOGE tried to enter USAID offices this weekend, two officials reportedly tried to physically stop them and were put on leave. DOGE leader Elon Musk said that this agency has been put “into the wood chipper.” Follow former State Department whistleblower Mike Benz for a summary of all the evils that USAID was guilty of, including funding gain of function research in China, funding fake news organizations as propaganda, funding online censorship, funding heroin production in Afghanistan, and more.

President Trump said that it was run by “radical lunatics” and it is hard to argue with that. Elon Musk said that the National Endowment for Democracy may be next and I would show up with popcorn to watch that organization hit the wood chipper next!

These organizations have been used to justify and start wars by bullying other countries around the world under the guise of “teaching them to be more like us.” It’s high time that ends and, in the words of Bertrand, “Hegemony was going to end sooner or later, and now the U.S. is basically choosing to end it on its own terms. It is the post-American world order – brought to you by America itself.”

Is the Gaza Truce on Trump?

3 février 2025 à 20:19

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in the United States to discuss foreign relations but he will have to wait until Tuesday to meet with President Trump. He is the first foreign dignitary to visit the new Trump administration by invitation.

Netanyahu will first meet with Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy to the Middle East. On Wednesday, he will hold meetings at the Pentagon and on Thursday, he will meet with members of Congress, presumably those who are heavily funded by Israel.

The timing is interesting because the second phase of the ceasefire discussions with Hamas is still ongoing. Netanyahu has said many times that Israel intends to resume military operations in Gaza after hostages are exchanged and Hamas says that it cannot agree to that. It would seem that this impasse is in the hands of the Trump administration.

Meanwhile, Israel blew up a neighborhood in the West Bank over the weekend but both Israel and Palestinian authorities said that the area had been evacuated so there are no reported casualties.

The Hypocracy

30 janvier 2025 à 03:20

Senator Elizabeth Warren asked Robert F Kennedy Jr. to “stop enriching yourself” by litigating against big pharma. Not coincidentally, she enriches herself by being supported by big pharma, to the tune of $1.6 million at least.

RFK Jr. earned legal fees from successfully suing pharmaceutical companies for hurting people. That experience has given him a unique insight in the American health industry but, according to Warren and The Wall Street Journal, that should be disqualifying.

“You’re asking me not to sue pharmaceutical companies and I am not going to agree to that,” he said.

“No I am not,” she yelled but clearly she wants that.

Why, you might ask, should a member of Congress want to protect an industry from litigation? An industry that she profits from? That’s queer, right?

Antisemitism Law

30 janvier 2025 à 03:18

On Wednesday, the Trump administration released this executive order to “combat anti-semitism.”

“It shall be the policy of the United States to combat anti-Semitism vigorously, using all available and appropriate legal tools, to prosecute, remove, or otherwise hold to account the perpetrators of unlawful anti-Semitic harassment and violence,” the order says.

Isn’t harassment and violence illegal, no matter who it is against? Why is this needed for a specific group of people? It says that “Jewish students have faced an unrelenting barrage of discrimination; denial of access to campus common areas and facilities, including libraries and classrooms; and intimidation, harassment, and physical threats and assault.” Again, those things should be illegal, no matter what race the victim.

This comes in the same day that newly-sworn in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made it his priority in his second day on the job to hold a call with Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz. He said that the call was “to reaffirm the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel. I emphasized that, under President Trump’s leadership, the United States supports Israel’s security 100%.” He continued, “I reiterated that the United States is committed to deepening the bilateral security relationship to enhance Israel’s ability to address regional threats and ensure Israel has the capabilities it needs. Minister Katz and I will remain in close contact moving forward.

Guantanamo Bay Is Taking Reservations

30 janvier 2025 à 03:16

President Trump said that the U.S. will get Guantanamo Bay ready to hold the “worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people. Some of them are so bad we don’t even trust the countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back so we’re going to send them out to Guantanamo.”

He said that he would sign “an executive order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000 person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay.” He did indeed sign this order for just that.

The order doesn’t mention the number of migrants but Guantanamo Bay does not hold 30,000 people. It was built to hold 800 and has never held more than 720 people. How in the world could it hold so many more people? Perhaps the President was embellishing in order to scare migrants into self deporting?

Guantanamo has a reputation for violating international human rights standards. Even if these are the worst of the worst, the debate over waterboarding was a fairly broad consensus that no one wants to see that happening again.

Nightmare In The Sky

30 janvier 2025 à 03:12

A military Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines passenger plane over the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport. The plane had 60 passengers and four crew members. The helicopter had three people aboard. Washington D.C. authorities say that they now expect no survivors and the scene is now a recovery scene.

The plane was American Eagle flight 5342 traveling to Washington, D.C. from Wichita, Kansas. American Airlines has this sitededicated to further information.

According to reports, the control tower saw this coming and asked the helicopter: “Do you have the CRJ in sight?” CRJ is the Bombardier CRJ700 Regional Jet.

The crash happened at night but that hardly explains how this happened. Some reports show that the helicopter was “flying dark,” meaning it had its transponder off. In a crowded civilian airspace?

The Associated Press reports this:

“A few minutes before landing, air traffic controllers asked the arriving commercial jet if it could land on the shorter Runway 33 at Reagan National and the pilots said they were able. Controllers then cleared the plane to land on Runway 33. Flight tracking sites showed the plane adjust its approach to the new runway.

Less than 30 seconds before the crash, an air traffic controller asks the helicopter if it has the arriving plane in sight. The controller makes another radio call to the helicopter moments later: “PAT 25 pass behind the CRJ.” Seconds after that the two aircraft collide.

The U.S. Army confirmed that the helicopter was from the U.S. Army and said that the three soldiers were aboard a training flight.

Air traffic control diverted all takeoffs and landings on Wednesday night and the airport was closed. One air traffic control transmission heard the tower tell a plane in the air that the airport was shutting down and the pilot replied, “Yeah. We witnessed the whole thing.”

The White House released this statement from the President Wednesday night. President Trump released this post on his own Truth Social page indicating that he has lingering questions and wants answers too.

Medicaid Work Requirement

28 janvier 2025 à 23:37

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has proposed a way to keep Medicaid from freeloaders. She has asked the Federal Government to approve a Medicaid work requirement.

She explains it thus: “The requirement is simple: If you want to receive free health care, paid for by your fellow taxpayer, able-bodied, working age adults have to work, go to school, volunteer, or be home to take care of their kids. 220,000 able-bodied, working age adults in Arkansas receive free health care courtesy of the Arkansas taxpayer. It costs us more than $2.2 billion each year and growing. Of those recipients, estimates show that nearly 90,000 have no job. Most Arkansas work hard to pay for their health insurance but many of these healthy adults don’t work at all and receive it for free. That’s not how the system should work.”

She says that Arkansas businesses have a worker shortage and that the state should no longer “pay people to sit on the sidelines.”

Arkansas tried this during the first Trump administration but it was held up in court so Huckabee Sanders is trying again.

Could this actually work to encourage a strong workforce in Arkansas? And would it lower tax rates for the working people of the state? It’s a great idea, we will watch it with keen interest!

Sex Changes for Minors

28 janvier 2025 à 23:36

The Trump administration has ordered a full review of sex change procedures for minors. The press calls this a “ban on gender affirming care.” It’s not that. It is a review of the procedures that are currently being done to minors and a removal of federal funding for it.

Oddly, it defines minors as anyone under the age of 19.

The order directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to review the current literature “on best practices for promoting the health of children who assert gender dysphoria, rapid-onset gender dysphoria, or other identity-based confusion.” HHS is then directed to share that data far and wide – something trans advocates do not want because the data on gender transition for minors is damning.

Rapid-onset gender dysphoria is a term trans advocates REALLY object to. It refers to young girls who suddenly say that they are trans in their early teens after copious exposure to social media. Advocates say that is not a thing, these kids have always known since birth. That is nonsense. Rapid-onset gender dysphoria is a well-documented phenomenon.

The order says that the federal government should not “fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.”

To this end, he has ordered the Attorney General to enforce laws against female mutilation and pursue the legality of certain state’s sanctuary laws.

The order does not say a person cannot have a sex change operation on their own private dime after they turn 19. They could but the doctors who perform these procedures on minors could be under a lot of scrutiny and risk now. Banana Bubblegum

Spending Pause

28 janvier 2025 à 23:35

The Trump administration through the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) ordered a pause on federal funding to grants and loans. The pause was supposed to go into effect on Tuesday afternoon but a federal judge put a pause on that pause because several states sued to stop it.

Queue an online media freak out about how kids won’t get school lunches or homeless shelters won’t have food. That’s not true.

The president ordered a review of funding to non-government organizations (NGOs), foreign governments and large discretionary contracts. The order excludes direct aid and benefit programs like SNAP and it also makes it clear that this will not affect Medicaid or Social Security. The new White House launched an X account to handle all of this misreporting and clarification on what is and is not supposed to be paused can be found here.

Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller calls the media fear about the pause the “first dumb media hoax of 2025.” It doesn’t help that the Medicaid website portal had an outage in the same day that this pause was announced. People justifiably freaked out that they would lose this benefit as a part of the spending pause. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged the outage and “confirmed no payments have been affected — they are still being processed and sent.”

The federal judge’s pause only applies to existing programs, meaning they will still be funded. No new programs can be put into place, as directed by that pause.

American Military Drones

28 janvier 2025 à 23:33

President Trump’s new Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt started her first press briefing by telling Americans what that whole drone swarm thing was about last year.

“I do have news directly from the president of the United States that was just shared with me in the Oval Office, from President Trump directly, an update on the New Jersey drones,” she said. “After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons. Many of these drones were also hobbyists, recreational and private individuals that enjoy flying drones. In time, it got worse due to curiosity. This was not the enemy.”

Wait what? If the FAA knew what this was, why in the WORLD wouldn’t they have told us so under President Biden?? Why did they keep this from us? Why were we told it was from an Iranian mothership by Congressional members!?

On Inauguration Day, President Trump promised to look into the drones and eight days later he delivered an answer.

New York Magazine is Racist?

28 janvier 2025 à 00:00

New York Magazine is being called out for this magazine cover and feature story indicating that conservative influencers are all spoiled rich white jerks.

“Almost everyone is white,” the article says. It quotes an “older woman in an updo” as asking: “Have you noticed the entire room is white?”

Only the image was cropped and guess who got cropped out? All the black partygoers who were standing right next to the white partygoers. When you see the entire image, there are conservative black people in the room. One of them was the party’s host.

Why would they do this?

To sell you the narrative that Republicans are a racist exclusionary club and to court back the Black voters that left the Democratic party in droves.

Remember when Time Magazine apologized for darkening Barack Obama’s skin tone on its cover? This feels like that. New York Magazine should apologize.

So who would do such dishonest journalism? This is the author: they/them Brock Colyar.

Biden’s Military Gets a DEI Makeover

27 janvier 2025 à 23:59

President Trump issued an executive order that will remove all gender ideology from the U.S. military.

The order does not specifically say that transgender people cannot serve in the military. It does say that the new Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has 60 days to issue new medical standards for the military and that they must reflect high standards of physical and mental fitness. It further states: “It is the policy of the United States Government to establish high standards for troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity, and integrity.  This policy is inconsistent with the medical, surgical, and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria.  This policy is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual’s sex.”

The order will remove “invented and identification-based pronoun usage” and will prevent the military from allowing males to “use or share sleeping, changing, or bathing facilities designated for females, nor allow females to use or share sleeping, changing, or bathing facilities designated for males.”

This is a reversal of President Biden’s executive orders allowing all of the above. Leaked memos from 2023 show that the Biden administration was providing sex change operations and hormones to service members, thereby making them ineligible for deployment. The document warns that these drugs would lead to a “redistribution of fat” and “decrease of muscle mass.”

Why in the heck would a country wants a military that it cannot deploy, whose bodies they are destroying, who end up on expensive medical discharge for the rest of their lives? It is the opposite of Super Soldier Serum.

America’s Iron Dome? Or America’s Next Big Waste of Money?

27 janvier 2025 à 23:58

President Trump has ordered the U.S. an Iron Dome of its own. This was a campaign promise that he has put into motion with this executive order.

The Iron Dome is what Israel calls its first-rate defense system, designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets, artillery shells, and mortars. It only works when you turn it on though. And it doesn’t work against hypersonic missiles which Iran recently deployed against Israel to devastating effect.

Ronald Reagan had a similar idea and the press called it his Star Wars initiative. It was formally called the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). It was never completed as the money and technology simply wasn’t there.

Is it now? There are a lot of big concept in this executive order like: Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor, space-based interceptors, Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, kinetic defeat of ballistic, hypersonic, advanced cruise missiles, and other next-generation aerial attacks.

I don’t know what any of that means and whether or not any of it would be effective against a nuclear attack but who doesn’t like the idea of a safer fence line? In theory?

Trump To Eliminate Income Taxes?

27 janvier 2025 à 23:57

President Trump once again has called to abolish the federal income tax. Honestly, I didn’t think we would hear this once he was inaugurated. I thought it was just a campaign promise like Bush’s “Read my lips, no new taxes.” But here we go!

The President said on Monday that we would like Congress to abolish the income tax.

“Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich foreign nations, we should be tariffing and taxing foreign nations to enrich our citizens,” he said.

He said that the United States was never richer than when it made money through foreign tariffs rather than through personal income tax of citizens.

Also on Monday, the Senate confirmed Scott Bessent for Treasury secretary. Bessent is an advocate for Trump’s tariff and growth agenda so let’s do it!

It is worth remembering that income tax was introduced briefly during the Civil War to fund that war and Americans were promised that it would be temporary. It was repealed in 1872.

The 16th Amendment in 1913 reintroduced taxes and again to fund World War I, Americans were told that it was temporary and necessary for “justifiable” government needs. By the 1940s, the government tried to bury the notion of the tax as temporary and hired Walt Disney Studios to make the film The New Spirit, starring Donald Duck as a dutiful taxpayer. This 7-minute film is an amazing artifact!

This means that income tax has been a permanent fixture of American life for barely a century. If it was repealed once, it can be repealed again!
